Description

A wide drum shade sits close to the ceiling on a satin nickel frame, with five E27 lampholders set inside and a frosted acrylic diffuser closing the underside so the light comes through soft and even. The shade is a dual faux silk, taupe on the outer face with a halo gold lining that warms the light on its way down. At 60cm across it reads as a generous circle rather than a small fitting, and the shallow body keeps everything tucked up tight.

It is one we turn to in rooms where a pendant would hang too low: a dining table under a modest ceiling, a wide landing, a main bedroom that wants a soft general wash rather than a hard beam. The holders spread the load, so no single lamp has to work hard and the diffuser stays even across its face. Each holder takes up to 20W, and LED GLS lamps are the sensible choice. Fit dimmable lamps with a compatible dimmer and it will drop to a low evening level.
