Description

Five E27 lamps sit behind a shallow drum of faux silk, held close to the ceiling on an antique brass frame. The shade measures 45cm across, broad enough to spread light through a room rather than pooling it in a single spot, and the ivory pearl outer is lined with white laminate so the light stays clean and bright. The brass carries an antique finish, warm and gently aged rather than sharp and reflective.

It is one we reach for where a pendant would hang too low: a hallway, a landing, a bedroom under a modest ceiling, or a flat with the dining table tucked against a wall. Because the lamps share one shade, you can use modest bulbs and still light a room comfortably. It will also dim of an evening, given compatible lamps and a dimmer. We would fit LED GLS lamps rated up to 20W and keep them warm in tone, which suits the ivory shade.

The frame is metal in an antique brass finish and the shade is fabric covered, so keep cleaning light handed: a soft brush or an upholstery tool on its gentlest setting for the faux silk, a dry duster for the metalwork, and switch the light off and let it cool before you start. It carries a one year warranty. The wider range takes in single light semi flush fittings in antique brass, satin nickel, polished chrome and satin black, along with linear pendants for a long table or an island, so finishes can be matched from room to room. Lamps are not included.
