Description

Five E27 lamp holders sit together on a single antique brass suspension, dropping into one wide shade of white faux silk with a white laminate lining. At 45cm across, the drum has the width to spread light gently while the brasswork above stays warm and understated. Grouped under a single shade, the lamps give a soft, even wash rather than a hard pool, so the fitting reads as one light rather than a cluster. We would put LED GLS globes in here and leave them be, and it will take a dimmer if you pair suitable dimmable lamps with it.

Wide shades like this earn their keep over a dining table, in a broad hallway or in a sitting room where a small pendant would look lost. With a drop reaching 3.3m, it also suits a stairwell or a tall-ceilinged room where most pendants finish too high. Wired for a household mains supply, it is meant for dry rooms indoors; a bathroom or a covered porch asks for something sealed.
