Description

Three lamps sit close under a polished chrome frame, each dressed with faux silk shading in ivory pearl and lined in white laminate. The effect is soft and warm: light passes through the fabric at the sides and drops cleanly downward, so you get both a gentle glow and enough brightness to read by. At 45cm across it has the spread to hold the centre of a ceiling without the drop of a pendant. It takes E27 lamps, and we would fit LED GLS globes at up to 20W each for an even, unfussy light.

It is one we would fit in a bedroom, on a landing or in a hallway where a low ceiling rules out anything hanging, and it works just as well over a small dining table in a flat. The neutral fabric keeps it quiet against white or off-white walls, while the chrome picks up other polished metal already in the room, from door handles to a mirror frame. Dimming is possible where suitable lamps and a compatible dimmer are used, which earns its keep in a bedroom.

The frame is polished chrome, bright rather than brushed, and the white laminate lining keeps the shade colour clean when the light is on. Keep it to dry rooms: a landing or a bedroom rather than a shower room or an unheated porch. Dust the metalwork with a dry cloth, and go over the fabric with a soft brush or an upholstery nozzle rather than anything damp. It carries a one year warranty.
