Baymont 3 Light Semi Flush 40cm Dia 20cm High - Polished Chrome

A wide, shallow shade in silver leaf with a white laminate lining sits on a polished chrome plate, the lamps tucked in behind it and only a short drop between plate and ceiling. At 40cm across it reads as a broad, low disc rather than a hanging shape, and the chrome catches whatever light spills past the rim. The proportions are quiet: width does the work, height stays out of the way. It is the kind of fitting that fills a ceiling visually without lowering it.

We reach for this where a pendant would hang too low: a hallway with a modest ceiling, a landing, a small dining area, or a bedroom where a cord fitting would sit awkwardly over the bed. It takes three E27 lamps and we would fit LED GLS globes, up to 20W each, warm white for living rooms. Dimming is possible with suitable lamps and a compatible dimmer, neither of which comes with it. Keep it to dry rooms indoors, away from steam and splashes.

The shade is laminated silver leaf, so it holds its shape rather than softening the way fabric does, and the leaf face has a faint unevenness that shifts as you move under it. Dust it with a dry cloth, going lightly around the rim, and give the chrome the same, lifting fingermarks with a barely damp cloth and drying straight after. It carries a one year warranty. Lamps are not included. We stock the same plate in white, and the smaller semi flush in the range comes in antique brass, satin nickel and satin black if you would rather the shape without the shine.

What size is this fitting?

The shade measures 400mm in diameter and the fitting stands 200mm deep, so it hangs close to the ceiling while spreading a good width across it.

Which lamps does it take, and are they supplied?

It takes three E27 lamps, rated to a maximum of 20W each. LED GLS (A60) globes suit it best. Lamps are not supplied, so order them alongside.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes, provided you use dimmable lamps with a compatible dimmer switch. No dimmer is included with the fitting.

Is it suitable for a bathroom or a covered porch?

No. It is rated IP20, which means dry interior rooms only, so keep it clear of bathrooms, wet rooms and anywhere exposed to the weather.

How should I clean the silver leaf shade?

Switch the light off and let everything cool, then use a soft dry cloth or a duster on the shade. Avoid sprays and solvents on the laminate, and use only a barely damp cloth on the chrome, dried immediately.

Is there a warranty?
