Description

A trio of E27 lamps sits behind one broad faux silk shade, 40cm across, in ivory pearl with a white laminate lining. A frosted acrylic diffuser closes the underside, so what reaches the room is a soft wash rather than a row of bright points. The metalwork is satin nickel, a quiet brushed grey that reads as neither warm brass nor cold chrome.

This is the shape we reach for over a dining table or a kitchen island, where the width of the shade answers the width of the table and the diffuser keeps the view upward comfortable. It works just as well as the central light on a landing, in a generous hallway or in a bedroom. Spread across a shade this wide, the light fills a family room easily, and with dimmable lamps and a compatible dimmer on the circuit the level can be pulled right back for the evening. We would fit LED GLS lamps here, up to 20W each.

The shade is fabric over a laminated backing, and the ivory pearl surface holds a faint sheen that picks up daylight in the day and lamplight after dark. To clean it, isolate the light and give it time to cool, then lift dust from the fabric with a soft brush or the upholstery tool on a vacuum; the acrylic diffuser takes a dry microfibre cloth and no sprays. Keep it to dry rooms indoors, well away from steam and splashes. It carries a one year warranty. Satin nickel runs through the wider Baymont range, so if you want the finish repeated elsewhere in the house there are linear pendants and semi flush fittings to match, and we stock the same fittings in polished chrome and antique brass too. Lamps are not included.
