Description

Three white faux silk shades sit in a row along a slim polished chrome bar, each one small at 20cm across, so the light travels along a line rather than gathering at a single point. The chrome is bright and reflective, the shades plain and quiet against it, and a white laminate lining inside each one throws the light downwards. Every shade sits over an E27 socket, and a golf ball LED is the shape we would put in here, since it disappears neatly inside a shade this size.

At 1.07m from end to end, it is a natural fit above a dining table, a narrow kitchen island or a long console, where a single central pendant would leave the ends of the run dim. The drop adjusts over a wide span, so it can hang low over a table top or be pulled up tighter in a hallway. It can be dimmed, provided the lamps you choose are dimmable and a separate dimmer is fitted. Keep it to dry rooms indoors, so kitchens, dining rooms and landings rather than bathrooms or anywhere open to the weather.

The bar and shade fittings are finished in polished chrome, a finish that shows fingerprints and so likes an occasional dry buff with a soft cloth; switch the light off first. The faux silk is better dusted with a soft brush than wiped with anything damp. It carries a one year warranty.
