Description

Three E27 lamps sit behind a shallow drum of faux silk, finished in ivory pearl on the outside with a white laminate lining that pushes light back down into the room. A frosted diffuser closes the base, so the lamps stay hidden and the glow spreads evenly rather than throwing hard shadows. Sitting tight to the ceiling, it gives you the softness of a fabric shade without the drop of a pendant.

We reach for this where a room needs real light from one point and there is no height to spare: landings, hallways, bedrooms and small box rooms. It has the output for a good sized living room too, and at 40cm across it holds its own above a sofa or over a table in a compact kitchen. It will dim, given lamps rated for dimming and a matching dimmer, both bought separately. Keep it to dry rooms indoors, away from bathroom zones and open porches.

The shade is fabric over a formed lining, light in the hand, and the ivory pearl reads as a soft warm neutral against white or magnolia walls. Dust settles on faux silk before anything else does, so turn the power off and go over it with a dry lint free cloth or a soft brush; the diffuser takes the same treatment once the lamps have cooled. It carries a one year warranty. We also stock the wider Baymont range as universal fittings in polished chrome, satin nickel, antique brass, white and satin black, including semi flush versions and linear pendants for shades in a row, if you would rather pick your own shade to go with them.
