Baymont 3 Light E27 Flush Ceiling Light 60cm - Silver Leaf

A wide, shallow drum sits tight to the ceiling, wrapped in silver leaf with a white lining, and a frosted acrylic diffuser closes the underside so light spreads across the whole face rather than picking out the lamps behind it. At 60cm across it reads as a broad, quiet disc from below, with enough depth to soften the glare without dropping into head height. Three E27 lampholders sit inside, each taking up to 20W, and LED GLS bulbs are what we would fit.

We tend to reach for it in hallways, landings and bedrooms where a pendant would hang too low, and it suits a generous square room better than a narrow corridor, since the diameter needs space around it to look right. Fitted with suitable lamps and paired with a compatible dimmer, it will dim, which makes it workable over a dining table in a room with a low ceiling. The white inner face keeps the reflected light neutral rather than tinted. Keep it to rooms that stay dry, away from shower spray and steam.

The shade is a silver leaf laminate over a white inner face, so the inside stays bright while the outer surface holds a soft metallic sheen; the diffuser is frosted acrylic rather than clear. Dust the shade with a soft brush and lift marks from the diffuser with a barely damp cloth, once the power is off and everything has cooled. It carries a one year warranty. Lamps are not included. How far does it hang below the ceiling?

The fitting is 220mm deep, so it stays close to the ceiling line. That depth is the reason it works in rooms where a hanging pendant would be in the way.

What lamps does it take?

Three E27 lamps, up to 20W each. We would use LED GLS (A60) shapes, which sit neatly behind the diffuser and keep running costs low.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes, provided you use dimmable lamps and a dimmer switch matched to them. No dimmer is supplied with the fitting.

How do I clean the diffuser?

Once the power is off and the lamps are cool, wipe the acrylic with a soft cloth slightly dampened with water. Avoid solvents and abrasive creams, as they can cloud acrylic.

Is 60cm too big for an average bedroom?

In a square bedroom of roughly 3m or more per side it looks balanced. In smaller or narrow rooms, the 22.5cm white Baymont flush fixture paired with a smaller shade is the easier choice.

Is it suitable for a bathroom?

No. It is rated IP20 and should be kept to dry rooms rather than bathrooms or shower rooms.
