Description

A wide, shallow drum in faux silk sits close to the ceiling, its nude beige outer wrapped over a paler moonlight lining. A frosted acrylic diffuser closes the underside, so the three E27 lampholders inside read as a single broad wash rather than separate hot spots. At 60cm across it covers a fair span of ceiling, while the shallow depth keeps the fitting well clear of doors, wardrobe tops and tall heads.

We would put this in a hallway, a landing or a bedroom where a pendant would hang too low to live with, and it earns its place in any room that has to be lit properly from a single ceiling point. Each lampholder takes up to 20W, which goes a long way with LED GLS lamps, and the fitting will dim if you run suitable lamps on a compatible dimmer. The nude beige shade is quiet enough to sit against magnolia, plaster pink or a soft grey without competing.

The shade is faux silk with a contrast lining that warms the light as it passes through. Dust it with a soft brush or a vacuum upholstery head on the lowest setting, and wipe the acrylic diffuser with a barely damp cloth only once the power is off at the switch and the lamps are cold. It needs an earth connection. It carries a one year warranty.
