Description

Three shades in gold leaf, lined with white laminate, hang in a row from a slim antique brass bar. Each is closed underneath by a frosted acrylic diffuser, so the light comes through softened rather than as glare overhead. At 40cm across, the shades are wide enough to read as one continuous band down the length of a table. Each shade takes an E27 lamp, and the fitting will dim where suitable lamps are paired with a dimmer. The suspension can sit close to the ceiling or let the bar hang low over a table in a taller room.

This is the shape we reach for over a long dining table, a kitchen island or a run of worktop, where one round pendant would leave the ends in shadow. Separate pools of light along a bar do that job far better. The gold leaf reads warm rather than brash, and with the white lining behind it the shades stay bright inside, which keeps the whole piece from feeling heavy. It suits a dining room that leans traditional as easily as a plainer kitchen wanting one warm note. We would fit opal GLS lamps here and put them on a dimmer for evenings.

The metalwork is finished in antique brass and the frosted acrylic diffusers are trimmed to match. Keep the cleaning simple: dust the shades with a soft brush and give the acrylic a wipe with a barely damp cloth, keeping sprays and polishes away from the leaf. It carries a one year warranty.
