Description

The Basmorne is a round flush ceiling light: a neat black cylinder that fixes straight to the ceiling, with the light falling from its open lower end. The body is aluminium in a black finish, and it stands 12cm tall and 10cm across, so it reads as a compact, architectural shape rather than a large fitting. It takes a GU10 bulb, which is not included, leaving you free to choose the brightness and colour of light that suits the room. Its IP20 rating settles where it goes: indoors, in a dry room.

Because it sits close to the ceiling, the Basmorne suits rooms where a pendant would hang too low: hallways, landings, bedrooms and studies, or a living room with a modest ceiling height. A single one works neatly above a console table or a reading chair, while a line of them along a corridor gives an even, ordered look that we think suits modern and industrial schemes especially well. The black finish stands out crisply against a white or pale ceiling, and it sits comfortably alongside black door handles, picture frames and metal shelving.

The aluminium body keeps the weight to 0.45KG, and aluminium itself does not rust. There is no switch on the light itself: it runs from a wall switch, so the room works exactly as it does now. It connects to the mains at 220 to 240V, 50/60Hz, and as a wired-in light it should be installed by a qualified electrician.
