Description

The Baskin is a single-light pendant with a 228mm clear glass bell shade suspended from a painted aged brass canopy, paired with a dark weathered zinc gallery ring at the neck of the shade. The glass is blown into a broad conical form with a 273mm overall fitting height, housing a single E27 bulb (sold separately) that sits exposed within the clear glass enclosure.

Designed for kitchen islands, dining tables and entrance halls, the Baskin provides direct downlight with minimal diffusion, making it suitable where task lighting is needed rather than ambient wash. The 1829mm cord allows the pendant to be set between 313mm and 2102mm drop on installation, giving flexibility across ceiling heights from 2.4m standard residential to higher commercial or period properties. The brass canopy fits standard UK ceiling roses.

The painted aged brass finish on the canopy provides a warm metallic accent with deliberate patina marks that simulate natural tarnish, while the dark weathered zinc gallery ring adds contrast with a cooler gunmetal tone. The Baskin takes a single E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W, sold separately. Most users pair this with a decorative filament LED bulb or vintage-style Edison bulb in warm white (2200K-2700K) to complement the aged brass and zinc finishes.

What drop height works for a dining table or kitchen island?

The 1829mm cord is adjustable on installation. For a dining table or kitchen island, the fitting typically hangs 700-900mm above the surface, which suits ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. The cord can be shortened during fitting to achieve the desired drop.

Is the finish real brass and zinc or painted?

The canopy is painted aged brass (not solid brass) with a finish that simulates natural patina. The gallery ring is dark weathered zinc, also a painted finish. Both finishes are designed to provide the appearance of aged metalwork without the maintenance requirements of bare metal.

Can the glass shade be cleaned?

Yes. The clear glass can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth and standard glass cleaner. Ensure the power is switched off and the bulb has cooled before cleaning.
