Description

The Basketball is a 300mm wide wall light shaped as a basketball hoop with a frosted glass sphere sitting inside a matt white metal net. The E27 socket sits inside the sphere, casting diffused light through the frosted glass and between the gaps in the metal net framework. The hoop ring and net strands are formed from powder-coated metal finished in matt white.

Designed for bedrooms, playrooms, home gyms and creative office spaces, the Basketball works as both a functional wall light and a decorative accent in rooms with sport or youth culture themes. The 320mm projection from the wall positions the light source well forward from the mounting surface, casting light outward and downward rather than straight up or down. The fitting mounts to a standard UK back plate and requires one E27 bulb (sold separately).

The matt white powder coat gives a clean, neutral finish that pairs with white walls, light wood furniture and bright accent colours common in children's and teen bedrooms. The metal net strands are rigid and pre-formed to hold their shape, so the net does not flex or sag when the fitting is mounted. The frosted glass sphere diffuses the bulb filament or LED element, preventing direct glare when viewed from typical room positions.

The Basketball takes one E27 (Edison screw) bulb. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a 6-10W LED bulb in warm white (2700K-3000K) or cool white (4000K) depending on room use and preference.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, when paired with a dimmable E27 bulb and a compatible dimmer switch on the wall circuit. The fitting itself does not restrict dimming, but the bulb must be rated as dimmable.

How far does it stick out from the wall?

The fitting projects 320mm from the wall once mounted. This positions the light source well forward from the mounting surface, so it needs to be mounted where the projection will not obstruct head height in corridors or beside doors.
