Description

The Basis is a 30.4cm linear LED track light designed for Maytoni's Exility magnetic track system, delivering 12W of warm 3000K light through an integrated LED strip housed in a white aluminium extrusion. The fitting runs on 48V DC low-voltage power supplied via the magnetic track, meaning it simply clips onto the track without requiring direct mains wiring to each individual light.

Designed for kitchens, workspaces, retail displays and galleries where focused linear light is needed along a wall or worktop, the Basis can be repositioned along the magnetic track without tools or re-wiring. Multiple Basis units can be combined on a single track run to create continuous or spaced linear lighting layouts, with each unit independently positioned and angled to direct light where it's needed. The magnetic attachment provides both physical support and electrical contact in one connection.

The white powder-coated aluminium body measures 30.4cm long by 2.2cm wide and projects 4.4cm from the track face once installed. The integrated LED operates at 3000K colour temperature, providing warm white light that suits residential and hospitality interiors without the cooler clinical tone of higher colour temperatures. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor environments — not suitable for bathrooms, kitchens zones 1-2, or outdoor use.

The Basis is part of Maytoni's modular Exility magnetic track range, which allows track sections to be joined in straight runs, L-shapes, T-junctions and grid patterns depending on the track components used. The track itself is sold separately and carries the 48V DC power supply that feeds all connected fittings.

No. The Basis requires Maytoni's Exility magnetic track system, which operates at 48V DC rather than 230V mains. It will not fit or function on older 3-circuit mains track systems from other manufacturers.

Can the light be repositioned once installed?

Yes. The magnetic connection allows the Basis to be slid along the track, rotated, and re-angled without disconnecting power or using tools. This makes it suitable for spaces where lighting needs change or where displays need to be re-lit as layouts evolve.

What's the light output?
