Description

The Basis Grid is a 6W LED linear track light designed for Maytoni's magnetic Radity track system, with a black aluminium housing and an internal honeycomb grid that controls light spread. The integrated LED provides 3000K warm white light, and the entire head rotates on the track mount to direct the beam onto specific surfaces, artwork or architectural features.

The magnetic track mounting allows the light to be repositioned along the track without tools, making it suitable for kitchens, home offices, retail displays and gallery walls where accent lighting needs to adapt over time. The compact 116mm length and 26mm width mean multiple units can be fitted along a single track run without crowding. The rotary mechanism provides approximately 350 degrees of horizontal rotation and tilts up to 90 degrees, allowing precise beam placement.

The honeycomb grid at the face of the light reduces glare and creates a more defined beam edge than an open reflector, giving cleaner contrast between lit and unlit areas. The black aluminium finish has a low-sheen powder coat that resists fingerprints and sits comfortably in both modern and industrial interiors. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor spaces. The DC 48V supply runs through the magnetic track itself, so no external driver or transformer is needed at the fitting.

What track system is this compatible with?

The Basis Grid is designed exclusively for Maytoni's magnetic Radity track system running DC 48V. It will not fit standard mains-voltage track systems or other brands' magnetic tracks without an adapter.

Can the light be dimmed?

Dimming depends on the track system's power supply. If the Radity track is connected to a dimmable DC 48V driver, the Basis Grid will dim along with other lights on the same track. The fitting itself has no built-in dimmer.

How does the honeycomb grid affect the light?

The grid reduces glare when viewed from off-axis angles and creates a more defined beam edge. This gives cleaner separation between lit and unlit areas, making it useful for accent lighting where you want a controlled spotlight effect rather than broad wash.

Can multiple units be fitted to one track?

Yes. The compact 116mm length allows multiple Basis Grid units to sit along the same track run. Spacing depends on the total wattage the track power supply can handle and how much accent light the space requires.
