Description

The Basis is a 304mm linear LED track light built for Maytoni's Magnetic Exility track system, delivering 12W output with DALI-controlled dimming and adjustable colour temperature from warm 2700K to cool 6000K. The matt black aluminium housing holds an integrated LED that can be remotely tuned for colour temperature and intensity via DALI protocol, allowing precise control across multiple fixtures from a single control system.

Designed for retail displays, gallery walls, office task lighting and residential accent lighting where colour rendering and adjustability matter, the Basis connects magnetically to the Exility 48V DC track and can be repositioned or removed without tools. The linear form projects light in a focused beam along its 304mm length, making it suited to highlighting merchandise, artwork, worksurfaces or architectural features. The DALI dimming provides smooth 0-100% adjustment without flicker, and the tunable white function allows the same fixture to serve as warm ambient light in the evening and cool task light during the day.

The 22.5mm width and 44mm height keep the profile compact when fitted to track, and the matt black finish integrates cleanly into dark ceilings or contrasts against white. The IP20 rating confines use to dry indoor spaces. The aluminium construction provides passive heat dissipation for the LED, and the 5-year warranty covers both the LED module and the driver electronics.

What is DALI dimming and do I need a special controller?

DALI (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface) is a protocol that allows precise, flicker-free dimming and individual control of multiple fixtures from a central controller. You will need a DALI-compatible control system to operate this light — it does not work with standard domestic dimmer switches or rotary dimmers.

Can the colour temperature be changed without a DALI controller?

No. Both the dimming and the colour temperature adjustment require DALI control signals. The light will operate at a default setting if powered directly, but full functionality requires integration into a DALI lighting system.

What track system does this fit?

This track light is designed exclusively for Maytoni's Magnetic Exility track system, which runs on 48V DC. It will not fit standard three-circuit track systems or other manufacturers' magnetic tracks.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating means it is suitable for dry indoor spaces only and must not be installed in areas exposed to moisture, steam or direct water contact.
