Description

The Basic Form is a 20cm globe pendant light built with two nested glass spheres — a clear outer globe containing a smaller frosted inner globe — suspended from a polished gold metal stem. A single G9 bulb (sold separately) sits inside the frosted inner sphere, diffusing light through the frosted glass before it passes through the clear outer layer, creating a dual-layer glow.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands, bedroom bedside positions and entrance halls, the pendant works as both task and ambient lighting depending on bulb choice. The adjustable drop ranges from 64.1cm to 344.1cm, allowing the pendant to be set at the correct height for different ceiling configurations. The gold canopy fits standard UK ceiling roses and the cable is concealed within the stem and flex.

The polished gold finish on the metal stem and canopy provides a warm metallic accent that pairs well with brass hardware, warm-toned woods, and contemporary interiors using gold or brass detailing. The 20cm diameter keeps the pendant visually light while the double-globe construction gives it enough presence to work as a standalone fitting. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor locations only.

The pendant takes a single G9 bulb up to 20W (sold separately). Most users choose a 3-5W LED G9 bulb at 2700K-3000K for warm ambient light. Halogen G9 bulbs are compatible but run hotter and consume more power than LED equivalents.

Is it dimmable?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the G9 bulb you install. Use a dimmable LED G9 bulb paired with a compatible LED dimmer for best results. Check the bulb packaging for dimmer compatibility before installing.

Can the drop be adjusted after installation?

The drop is set during installation by adjusting the cable length within the canopy. Once fitted, the pendant hangs at a fixed height until you re-open the canopy to shorten or extend the cable.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating means the pendant is not protected against moisture and must only be used in dry indoor locations. It is not suitable for bathrooms, wet rooms or outdoor use.
