The Basic Form is a 5-light cluster pendant built around five clear glass globes, each containing a frosted opal glass inner sphere that houses a G9 bulb. The globes hang at staggered heights from a 58cm circular gold canopy on individual cables, creating a cascading arrangement. The gold stems that pierce each globe are solid metal, providing both structural support and visual continuity between the canopy and the glass elements.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and entrance halls with ceiling heights of 2.8m or higher, the Basic Form combines decorative presence with functional ambient light. The adjustable cable system allows the overall drop to be set between 64cm and 344cm during installation, giving flexibility for different ceiling heights and mounting positions. Each G9 bulb (sold separately) is visible through both layers of glass, so bulb choice affects the overall appearance — warm-white or amber filament G9 bulbs complement the gold finish, while cool-white LEDs create a sharper contrast.

The layered glass construction diffuses light twice: first through the frosted opal inner globe, then again through the clear outer shell. This double diffusion softens the direct glare from the G9 source while still allowing enough clarity to see the inner sphere suspended within each globe. The Basic Form requires five G9 bulbs, each rated up to 20W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED G9 capsules between 2W-4W and 2700K-3000K for ambient lighting over dining tables.

Can the drop height be adjusted after installation?

The cables are adjusted during installation by shortening or lengthening them through the canopy mechanism. Once fitted and the canopy is secured to the ceiling, adjusting the drop requires partial disassembly. Set the desired height during initial fitting.

Is it suitable for low ceilings?

The minimum drop of 64cm means the lowest globe sits 64cm below the ceiling rose when the cables are at their shortest setting. For a standard 2.4m ceiling this leaves approximately 1.76m clearance to floor level, which is sufficient for hallways and dining areas but may feel low in rooms where people walk directly beneath the fitting.

What's the IP20 rating mean for placement?

IP20 means the fitting is not protected against moisture ingress. It's suitable for dry indoor locations only — living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, hallways. Do not install in bathrooms, kitchens directly above hobs or sinks, or any outdoor location.
