Description
The Baselle is a set of three round recessed downlights in black, each with a steel body and a slim trim that sits close to the ceiling. Each one measures 8.7cm across and takes a GU10 bulb, and each light is rated at 4.6W and gives 400 lumens. That is a clear, focused light for picking out the parts of a room you care about most. The inner ring tilts, so you can angle every beam where you want it. With an IP20 rating, these are indoor lights for dry rooms, so keep them away from bathrooms, showers and the garden.
Black downlights suit a ceiling where you want the fittings to read as a deliberate detail rather than disappear. They look especially sharp on a pale ceiling above dark walls, shelving or a cosy window seat. They belong in a living room, a study, a hallway, a bedroom or a reading nook, anywhere a dry, indoor ceiling needs light that does a job. Because each head tilts, a row of three works hard: one can wash a bookcase while its neighbours light a chair and the floor. They run on 220 to 240V mains and have no switch of their own, so the wall switch you already use controls them.
The bodies are steel with a black finish, and spring clips on either side hold each light in the ceiling once it is fitted. Each downlight needs a cut-out of 7cm and a recess depth of 11.5cm, so the space above your ceiling matters more than the size of the trim. As wired mains lights, they are installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a download. Measure the clear depth above your ceiling before you order, since 11.5cm is what each light needs.

Frequently Asked
Can these downlights go in a bathroom?
No. They are rated IP20, which means indoor, dry rooms only, so we suggest living rooms, hallways, studies and bedrooms instead.
What size hole does each downlight need?
Each one needs a cut-out of 7cm and a recess depth of 11.5cm, and the visible trim measures 8.7cm across.
Which bulb fits these lights?
Each downlight takes a GU10 bulb, and each light is rated at 4.6W and gives 400 lumens.
Can the light be angled?
Yes. The inner ring of each downlight tilts, so you can aim the beam at a bookcase, a picture or a favourite chair.
Do they have their own switch?
No, there is no switch on the lights themselves; they are controlled from your existing wall switch like any other ceiling light.
What material is the body?
The bodies are steel in a black finish, which looks crisp against a white or pale ceiling and pairs well with dark shelving.
