Description

Five champagne gold arms fan out inside a single wide drum shade, so the light arrives as a broad, even wash rather than a row of separate pools. The shade is a dual faux silk in nude beige and moonlight, 60cm across and shallow in proportion, which keeps a large fitting looking calm above a table. Each arm takes a small candle lamp on an E14 socket, sitting well inside the drum. The drop is adjustable, so it can hang close under an ordinary ceiling or fall long in a room with height to spare.

This is a good fitting for a dining table, a wide kitchen island or a big square hallway, anywhere a single small pendant would look lost. It suits rooms where you want fabric overhead rather than glass or metal, and where the light needs to stay soft on faces. We reach for it in bedrooms too, centred over the foot of the bed. It will dim, provided the candle lamps you fit are dimmable and there is a dimmer on the circuit; a dimmer is not supplied. We would choose warm white lamps here, to keep the beige reading soft.

The frame is metal in a champagne gold finish, warm and slightly muted rather than brassy, and the faux silk carries a low sheen that picks the gold up. Faux silk does not care for water, so keep cleaning dry: a soft brush or a vacuum on its lowest setting for the fabric, and a dry duster for the arms. It carries a one year warranty.
