Description

The Balance is a single-light wall fitting with a white fabric drum shade suspended from a polished nickel arm that extends from a white circular wall plate. The shade houses an acrylic diffuser at the base and a white laminate lining inside, diffusing light from an E27 bulb (sold separately) into a soft, even glow suitable for ambient and task lighting.

Designed for bedrooms, hallways, reading nooks and sitting rooms where directed light is needed without a ceiling pendant, the Balance projects 260mm from the wall and positions the shade 160mm wide by 237mm high. The adjustable arm allows the shade to be angled slightly towards a headboard or reading chair. The polished nickel detailing on the arm and shade cap contrasts with the matte white fabric and wall plate, adding a metallic accent without dominating the fitting.

The E27 socket accepts LED, halogen or filament bulbs up to 40W, giving flexibility to choose colour temperature and brightness based on the room. Most users pair this with a 6-10W LED in 2700K-3000K for warm ambient light or a cooler 4000K for task lighting in home offices. The white fabric shade softens the light output and reduces glare, while the acrylic diffuser at the base prevents hotspots directly below the bulb.

Can the shade be angled?

Yes. The arm allows the shade to be angled slightly towards a headboard, reading chair or desk surface, providing directed light where needed.

Is it suitable for a bathroom?

The Balance carries no IP rating and is designed for dry indoor use only. It is not suitable for bathrooms or other areas with moisture exposure.

How is the shade cleaned?

The white fabric shade can be dusted with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. For more stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth is acceptable, but avoid soaking the fabric or using household sprays that may stain or damage the material.
