Description

The Baker Street is an 80cm outdoor pedestal light built around a black aluminium frame with a frosted and clear glass diffuser at the top. An integrated 10W LED inside the lamp head delivers 3000K warm-white light through the glass, providing downward illumination for pathways, driveways, garden borders and patio edges. The IP65 rating protects the internals against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets from any direction.

Designed for mounting onto a hardstanding surface such as paving, decking or a concrete pathway edge, the Baker Street bolts through the base plate (fixings not included). The 180 x 180mm square footprint gives stability without needing a large mounting pad. The frosted glass diffuses the LED output to reduce glare when viewed at eye level, while the transparent outer layer protects the frosted diffuser and allows the full light output to escape downward and outward.

The black aluminium frame resists corrosion in coastal and wet climates and requires no annual repainting. The 80cm height positions the light source above typical garden planting without being so tall that it becomes a visual obstruction in smaller gardens or narrow side passages. The 3000K colour temperature matches most domestic outdoor lighting schemes, giving a warmer tone than commercial LED streetlights.

What does IP65 mean for outdoor use?

IP65 means the light is fully dust-tight and protected against water jets from any direction. It can handle rain, garden hose spray and wet weather conditions without water entering the electrical components. It is not submersible.

How is it installed?

The Baker Street bolts through the base plate onto a hard surface such as paving slabs, concrete, decking or a mounted post. Fixings are not included. The mains cable enters through the base and must be connected by a qualified electrician.

Is the LED replaceable?

The 10W LED is integrated into the lamp head and is not user-replaceable. LED modules typically last 20,000-30,000 hours under normal outdoor use, which equates to 10-15 years at typical residential usage rates.

Can it be used on gravel or soft ground?

The 180 x 180mm base plate is designed for mounting onto hard surfaces. For gravel or soft ground, mount the light onto a buried concrete pad or paving slab that sits flush with the surface level.
