Description

The Bahia is a dual-function wall light pairing a white fabric shade with an adjustable bronze LED reading arm beneath. The main shade houses an integrated LED producing ambient light, while the separate 3W reading arm at the base tilts independently and delivers focused 4000K cool white task light. Both light sources operate on separate switches, allowing either to be used alone or together.

Designed for bedside positions, reading nooks, and hotel guest rooms, the Bahia provides ambient background light from the shade plus directed reading light without needing a separate table lamp or floor lamp. The 150mm projection keeps the fitting close to the wall, making it suitable for narrow bedrooms or spaces where protruding fittings would obstruct movement. The bronze backplate measures 200mm wide and 320mm tall, fitting comfortably between standard bed height (500-600mm) and ceiling height without dominating the wall.

The bronze finish on the metalwork sits warmer than polished chrome or brushed nickel, pairing with traditional timber furniture, warm grey walls, and brass or copper accents. The white fabric shade diffuses the integrated LED softly across the room while the adjustable reading arm can be angled towards a pillow, a book, or a bedside surface. The combined 16W power draw across both light sources keeps running costs low, and the 200lm output from the reading arm provides sufficient light for reading print or screens without glare.

Can the reading arm be adjusted?

Yes. The 3W LED reading arm at the base of the fitting tilts on a joint, allowing it to be angled towards a reading position, a bedside surface, or away from the wall. The arm does not rotate horizontally but the tilt range covers most bedside reading angles.

Are both lights controlled separately?

Yes. The main shade and the reading arm each have independent switches, so you can use the ambient light alone, the reading light alone, or both together depending on the task.

Is the Bahia dimmable?

No. The integrated LEDs are not dimmable and should be wired to a standard on/off switch circuit rather than a dimmer circuit.

What height should it be mounted for bedside use?

For typical bed heights of 500-600mm, mounting the centre of the backplate 900-1100mm from the floor positions the reading arm comfortably above pillow height and the shade at a useful ambient light position. Adjust to suit mattress thickness and personal preference.
