Description

This wiggle-edged metal photo frame sets a favourite picture inside a soft, wavy border in warm ochre, around a cream mount printed all over with tiny birds, owls, flowers and trailing leaves in muted tones. It takes a 7 x 5in photograph in a single rectangular opening, so one treasured print sits neatly at the centre of all that pattern. The whole frame measures 35.6cm tall, 25.6cm wide and 2cm deep, which gives a small photograph a generous setting and lets it read well from across a room.

Because it can stand or hang, it suits almost anywhere you like to keep a picture close. With the stand on the back it sits happily on a sideboard, mantelpiece, bedside table or dressing table, with no wall fixings needed. Use the hangers on the back instead and it goes up on the wall, where the wavy outline softens a straight run of frames. We find the ochre border sits well with warm wood, cream paintwork and floral wallpaper, and the quiet print of the mount lets the photograph take the lead. It makes a thoughtful present for anyone who loves a cheerful, characterful frame for a much-loved picture.

The frame is made from metal and MDF, with a smooth, solid ochre border, a patterned mount around the opening and a plain black back. A neat cream edge runs around the opening, so the photograph sits cleanly against the busy print and faces and details stay the focus. Looking after it is simple: dust the border and back with a soft dry cloth now and then, and wipe away any marks with a barely damp cloth. Slip a favourite photograph in before you wrap it, and it is ready to give the moment it is opened.
