Description

This clear glass mug carries the words Baby It's Cold Outside in chunky, rounded capitals, printed in alternating purple and red. The slogan sits across the front in three lines. Because the glass is clear, you can see the reverse of the lettering through the mug, which gives it a playful layered look from every side. It has a generous rounded handle, a thick base and a simple straight-sided shape. It stands 10cm tall, 11cm wide and 8cm deep, a familiar everyday mug size that sits comfortably in the hand.

We think it earns its place in the cupboard from the first frosty morning of December. It makes a cheerful Christmas mug for a festive breakfast table, a cosy evening on the sofa or a winter drink at your desk. When it is not in use, the bright lettering adds a little colour to a kitchen shelf. As a Christmas gift it is easy to give: wrap it on its own, tuck it into a stocking, or fill it with wrapped sweets for anyone who loves the season and a bit of cheeky wordplay.

The mug is made from glass, with the words printed onto its outer surface in two strong colours. For care, we suggest washing it gently by hand in warm soapy water and drying it with a soft cloth, which is simple good practice for printed glassware. Treat it as you would any glass and avoid knocking it against hard surfaces or the edge of the sink. For a bright seasonal table, set it beside plain white crockery and let the purple and red lettering bring the colour, or give it pride of place on an open kitchen shelf through December.
