Description

The Axis is a 63cm vertical LED wall light built around a single cylindrical acrylic tube with matt black aluminium end caps and a circular wall mount. An integrated 16W LED runs the length of the tube, emitting 3000K warm white light through the acrylic diffuser to create a vertical column of ambient glow on the wall.

Designed for hallways, staircases, living rooms and bedroom accent walls where vertical lighting adds visual height, the Axis works as solo feature lighting or in pairs flanking doorways or mirrors. The 63cm height and narrow 3cm diameter suit walls with limited horizontal space, and the black finish provides contrast against white, grey or light-coloured painted surfaces. The IP20 rating limits the fitting to dry indoor locations only.

The aluminium construction keeps the weight low while maintaining rigidity across the 63cm length, and the matt black powder-coat finish minimises fingerprints and reflections. The acrylic tube conceals the LED strip inside while diffusing the light evenly along the vertical axis, avoiding visible LED hotspots. The integrated driver sits behind the wall mount, so installation requires standard mains wiring into a UK ceiling rose or back box behind the mounting plate.

Is the Axis dimmable?

The integrated LED driver may be compatible with certain trailing-edge dimmers, but dimmer compatibility is not guaranteed across all models. Contact Maytoni or Niori before pairing with a dimmer to confirm compatibility.

Can it be installed horizontally?

The Axis is designed for vertical installation with the circular mount at the centre and the tube extending upward and downward. Horizontal mounting would change the visual balance and may affect LED performance depending on driver orientation.

What rooms is it suitable for?

The IP20 rating restricts the Axis to dry indoor areas only. It suits hallways, living rooms, bedrooms, staircases and dining rooms, but not bathrooms, wet rooms, kitchens near sinks or outdoor covered areas.

How is the LED replaced?

The LED is integrated into the fitting and cannot be replaced by the end user. The 16W LED is rated for approximately 25,000-30,000 hours of use, which translates to 10-15 years at typical residential usage levels.
