Description
The Axis is a 700mm alabaster table lamp built around a rectangular slab of natural Spanish alabaster, framed by brushed brass detailing and topped with a rectangular beige PVC shade. The 420mm-long shade sits horizontally above the vertical stone block, suspended on a slim brass stem and finial. A single E27 lamp socket inside the shade powers the fitting, with light filtering down through the alabaster to reveal the stone's internal veining.
Designed for hallway consoles, sideboards, bedside tables and living room side tables, the Axis works in spaces where a low, wide light spread is more useful than a tall pool of light. The rectangular shade pushes illumination across a horizontal area, suiting it to a console behind a sofa or a pair flanking a bed. The 200mm depth keeps the footprint shallow enough for narrow consoles where a round-base lamp would overhang.
Each alabaster slab is cut from natural stone, so the veining, translucency and tonal variation differ between individual lamps. The brushed brass plinth, stem and finial frame the stone with clean vertical and horizontal lines, giving the lamp an architectural quality without ornament. The beige PVC shade is colour-matched to the warm tones in the brass and stone, keeping the palette calm and tonal rather than contrasting.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does the Axis take?
The lamp uses a single E27 (Edison screw) bulb, sold separately. A warm-white LED between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K pairs well with the alabaster and beige shade for ambient light on a console or bedside.
Does the alabaster vary between pieces?
Yes. The slab is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so veining, tonal variation and translucency differ between individual lamps. This is a feature of the natural stone rather than a defect.
Will it fit on a narrow console?
The base measures 200mm wide by approximately 200mm deep, with the shade extending to 420mm in length. The shallow depth suits narrow consoles, but the horizontal shade needs around 450mm of clear length to sit without overhanging.
How is the alabaster cleaned?
Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. For marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the stone and do not use sprays, polishes or chemical cleaners.
