Description

The AV:Link 3-port HDMI switch routes three HDMI sources to a single display, with input selection controlled by either the included IR remote or a button on the switch itself. Three green LEDs on the front panel indicate which input is currently active, and the unit requires no external power supply — it draws power directly from the HDMI cables connected to it.

Designed for home cinema setups, gaming consoles and presentation environments where multiple HDMI sources need to share one screen, the switch supports HDMI 1.4a with up to 4K resolution at 60Hz, 1080p Full HD, 3D content and 8-bit deep colour. Audio pass-through includes DTS-HD, Dolby TrueHD, DTS, Dolby AC3 and DSD formats, making it suitable for multi-channel AV receivers and soundbars that decode lossless audio.

The compact 77 x 56 x 15mm metal chassis fits behind a wall-mounted TV or sits unobtrusively on an AV rack shelf, and the 40g weight allows it to be cable-tied to the back of a display without additional support. HDCP2.2 compliance ensures compatibility with protected content from streaming boxes, Blu-ray players and modern games consoles. The remote uses a CR2025 coin cell battery (supplied) and operates via line-of-sight IR.

Frequently Asked

Does this switch need external power?

No. The switch is bus-powered, drawing up to 150mA from the HDMI cables connected to it. This works reliably when connected to active HDMI sources like set-top boxes, games consoles and Blu-ray players. If your sources do not provide enough power over HDMI, the switch may not operate correctly.

Can it switch automatically between inputs?

No. Input selection is manual only, controlled by the IR remote or the button on the unit. The switch does not detect signal presence or auto-switch to an active input.

What's the maximum cable length supported?

HDMI cable performance varies by quality and construction. Most standard HDMI cables up to 5m work reliably with this switch at 1080p. For 4K content or longer runs, use certified Premium High Speed HDMI cables to avoid signal degradation.

Is it compatible with HDMI 2.0 or 2.1 sources?

The switch is HDMI 1.4a, so it will pass 4K at 60Hz and supports HDCP2.2 for protected content. HDMI 2.0 and 2.1 features such as HDR10+, variable refresh rate and 4K at 120Hz are not supported — the signal will be downscaled to the maximum supported by HDMI 1.4a.
