Description

The AV:Link 3-port HDMI switch routes three HDMI source devices to a single HDMI display through manual button selection on the switch body. Built to HDMI 1.3b specification, it handles video up to 1080p at 60Hz with 12-bit deep colour and passes stereo or multi-channel audio formats including Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio through the HDMI signal path.

Designed for home theatre racks, TV cabinets and desktop setups where multiple sources (games consoles, set-top boxes, media players) connect to one screen, the switch eliminates cable swapping at the display end. A button on the top face cycles through inputs 1, 2 and 3, with corresponding LED indicators showing the active source. The 45cm attached cable terminates in a male HDMI connector for the output run to the TV or monitor.

The compact 80mm x 90mm footprint allows the switch to sit behind a TV stand or inside a cabinet without taking meaningful space. Gold-plated HDMI connectors provide corrosion resistance and reduce signal degradation over repeated plug cycles. No external power supply is required — the switch draws operating power from the +5V line carried by the HDMI cables themselves, which works reliably when all connected devices are powered on.

The switch operates passively with no upscaling, re-timing or EDID management, meaning it works best when all connected sources output similar resolutions and the display has broad format compatibility. For complex multi-format setups or automatic switching based on source power state, an active HDMI matrix is a better fit, but for straightforward manual switching between three similar devices this passive switch provides a cost-effective and zero-latency solution.

No. This is a manual switch requiring the user to press the button on the switch body to cycle through inputs 1, 2 and 3. LED indicators show which input is currently active.

Does it need an external power supply?

No. The switch draws operating power from the +5V line carried by the HDMI cables. All connected source devices and the display must be powered on for the switch to function.

Will it work with 4K sources or displays?

The switch is rated to HDMI 1.3b specification with a maximum of 1080p at 60Hz. It will pass a 4K signal if the source and display negotiate a compatible handshake, but the switch itself does not guarantee 4K compatibility and may cause the source to default to 1080p output.

What audio formats does it support?

HDMI 1.3b supports stereo PCM, Dolby Digital, DTS, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio passed through the HDMI signal. The switch does not extract or convert audio — it passes whatever the source outputs within the HDMI 1.3b bandwidth limit.
