Description

The Austral is a 14-globe LED cluster pendant light featuring faceted transparent acrylic spheres suspended in a cascading spiral from a 500mm diameter satin gold canopy. Each sphere houses an integrated LED module, and the combined 69W array delivers 3,745 lumens at 3200K with a CRI above 90. The spheres are attached to individual clear cables that drop from the canopy at staggered heights, creating a helix or column depending on how the cables are trimmed during installation.

Designed for double-height entrance halls, open-plan voids above staircases, and dining tables with 2.8m+ ceiling clearance, the Austral requires a minimum installation height of 130cm and can extend to 300cm when the cables are left at full length. The faceted acrylic refracts the internal LED light, scattering prismatic patterns across adjacent walls and ceilings when lit. The included 0-10V driver is compatible with most LED wall dimmers, allowing the output to be adjusted from full brightness down to a low ambient glow.

The satin gold canopy finish provides a warm metallic accent that pairs with both traditional brass fixtures and contemporary warm-toned interiors. The 14.07kg total weight is distributed across the canopy fixing, which mounts to a standard UK ceiling rose rated for the load. The faceted spheres show minimal dust accumulation compared to smooth glass, and each can be wiped clean with a dry microfibre cloth while the power is isolated. All cables and LED modules are pre-wired at the factory, so installation involves ceiling mounting, cable trimming to the desired drop pattern, and mains connection to the supplied driver.

Is the Austral dimmable?

Yes. The pendant includes a 0-10V driver that pairs with most LED wall dimmers, allowing the output to be adjusted from full brightness to a low ambient level. Confirm dimmer compatibility with your electrician before installation.

What ceiling height is needed?

The minimum installation height is 130cm and the maximum is 300cm. For a double-height hallway or stairwell void, a ceiling height of 3.5m or above allows the full cascade effect. The individual cables can be trimmed during installation to adjust the overall drop and pattern.

Can the cable lengths be adjusted after installation?

The cables are field-cuttable, meaning they can be trimmed to the desired length during the initial installation. Once cut and the pendant is wired, the cables cannot be lengthened again without replacing them.

How are the acrylic spheres cleaned?

Isolate the power at the mains, then wipe each sphere gently with a dry microfibre cloth. The faceted surface hides fingerprints and dust better than smooth glass. Avoid chemical sprays or abrasive materials that might scratch the acrylic.
