Description
The Aurora Boreal is a 180x120cm abstract skyscape photography print on tempered glass, depicting cascading vertical streams of black, silver and gold against a dark background. The image suggests falling meteors, northern lights or rain streaking through night sky, captured in high-resolution detail and printed directly onto 4mm-thick tempered glass.
Designed as a statement wall piece for large feature walls in living rooms, hotel lobbies, office reception areas and contemporary bedrooms, the print requires at least 2m of clear horizontal wall space. The glossy glass surface reflects ambient light and intensifies the metallic gold highlights in the image, so the piece changes appearance depending on natural daylight, evening artificial light and viewing angle. Supplied with mounting ironwork for secure wall fixing, the 21.2kg weight requires two-person installation and solid wall fixings rated for the load.
The tempered glass construction provides impact resistance and protects the print from UV fade, dust and surface wear compared to paper or canvas prints. The 0.4cm depth sits almost flush to the wall once mounted, giving a frameless floating appearance. The black-dominant palette anchors the piece visually while the gold streaks provide focal points that catch the eye from across a room, making the print suitable for spaces with dark accent walls, concrete finishes or monochrome colour schemes.

Frequently Asked
What wall fixings are needed?
The print weighs 21.2kg and includes mounting ironwork. Use solid wall fixings rated for at least 25kg distributed load. Plasterboard walls require cavity anchors or toggle fixings into stud positions. Two-person installation is required due to the size and weight.
Can it be cleaned?
The tempered glass surface can be wiped with a soft microfibre cloth and standard glass cleaner. Avoid abrasive cleaning pads and do not use solvents or bleach-based sprays on the edges where the print layer meets the glass.
Is the glass surface reflective?
Yes. The glossy tempered glass reflects ambient light and intensifies the metallic tones in the image. The degree of reflection depends on the room lighting and the angle at which the piece is viewed, so the appearance changes throughout the day.
What colour wall does it suit?
The print pairs well with white, light grey, charcoal or black feature walls. The dark tones in the image allow it to hold visual weight against darker wall colours without disappearing, while the gold highlights provide contrast against lighter backgrounds.
