Description
The Aurora is a 720mm crystal chandelier with twelve curved gold-finished metal arms, each supporting an E14 candle bulb and dressed with strands of faceted cut crystal droplets. The arms radiate from a central gold-finished column topped with a decorative gold fabric chain sleeve. Each crystal strand terminates in a larger teardrop pendant, and the entire fitting weighs enough to need secure ceiling fixings rated for chandeliers.
Designed for dining rooms, entrance halls and double-height spaces with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above, the Aurora sits 650mm from ceiling rose to the lowest crystal drop. The 720mm diameter suits rooms of 4m width or larger, sitting centrally above a dining table or in the centre of an entrance hall. The twelve bulbs provide distributed light rather than focused task lighting, filling the room with reflected and refracted light from the crystal elements.
The gold finish on the metal frame is a warm-toned gold plate rather than polished brass, reading slightly more antique in tone. Each crystal droplet is machine-cut with multiple facets that catch and split light when the bulbs are on, creating moving points of reflection across walls and ceilings. The IP20 rating restricts the chandelier to dry indoor locations only. The fitting is dimmable when paired with compatible E14 LED candle bulbs and a trailing-edge LED dimmer.
Ideal Lux manufactures the Aurora in Italy and backs it with a five-year warranty. The chandelier ships with a ceiling rose, chain suspension system and wiring instructions, but bulbs are sold separately. Installation requires a qualified electrician due to the weight and the need to ensure the ceiling fixing can support the loaded chandelier safely.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does the Aurora take?
The chandelier takes twelve E14 candle bulbs, sold separately. Most users pair this with 4-6W warm-white LED candle bulbs at 2700K to replicate the look of traditional candle chandeliers without the heat or running cost of halogen.
Is the Aurora dimmable?
Yes, when paired with dimmable E14 LED bulbs and a trailing-edge LED dimmer. The chandelier itself has no electronics that would prevent dimming, but the bulbs and dimmer must be compatible with each other.
What ceiling height is needed?
The 650mm drop from ceiling rose to lowest crystal suits rooms with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above. In dining rooms the chandelier typically hangs 700-900mm above the table, which requires 2.9m or higher ceilings to maintain comfortable headroom when standing.
How is the crystal cleaned?
Switch off and allow bulbs to cool. Remove dust with a dry microfibre cloth or a soft brush. For deeper cleaning, remove individual crystal strands and wash in warm water with a drop of washing-up liquid, rinse with distilled water, then dry thoroughly before rehanging. Do not spray the chandelier with liquid while crystals are attached to the metal frame.
