Description

The Aurix is a 180mm round LED wall light with an integrated 7.5W 3000K LED housed behind a white metal diffuser. The circular design creates a halo of warm white light against the wall, providing ambient wash lighting rather than directional task light. The fitting sits 140mm proud of the wall surface, giving enough depth to cast light both upward and downward along the wall plane.

Designed for residential interiors including hallways, bedrooms, living rooms and stairwells, the Aurix works where wall-mounted ambient light is needed without the footprint of a table lamp or the ceiling penetration of a downlight. The 7.5W LED output provides soft background illumination rather than intense light, making it suitable for spaces where you want visibility without glare. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor locations.

The white powder-coated metal finish gives a clean, neutral appearance that sits comfortably in both contemporary white-toned interiors and warmer schemes where the white acts as an accent. The round form and flush diffuser mean there are no sharp edges or visible bulb elements, keeping the profile minimal. The 3000K colour temperature produces warm white light comparable to a traditional halogen, avoiding the cooler blue cast of higher-temperature LEDs.

The Aurix is typically installed in pairs to flank a hallway or staircase, or positioned individually as bedside lighting where a table lamp would take up surface space. The non-dimmable LED simplifies wiring to a standard switched circuit without the need for compatible dimmer hardware. From Ideal Lux, the Italian lighting manufacturer founded in 1974.

Frequently Asked

Is the Aurix dimmable?

No. The integrated LED is non-dimmable and should be connected to a standard on/off switch circuit. Attempting to use a dimmer will not damage the fitting but will likely cause flickering or failure to operate.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating means the Aurix is not protected against moisture ingress and must only be used in dry indoor locations. For bathrooms or outdoor use, a fitting with IP44 or higher is required.

What type of light does it produce?

The Aurix creates a halo of wash light against the wall, illuminating both upward and downward from the circular diffuser. It provides ambient background light rather than focused task light, making it suitable for hallways, bedrooms and living rooms where soft illumination is needed.

How is it mounted?

The fitting mounts directly to a standard UK back box or surface-mounted back box. The 140mm projection includes the mounting plate, so the finished fitting sits approximately 140mm from the wall surface once installed.
