Description

The Aura Small is a 120mm diameter flush ceiling light with a white powder-coated aluminium body and a frosted acrylic diffuser. It takes a single GX53 bulb (sold separately) and sits 40mm proud of the ceiling, making it compatible with rooms where ceiling height is limited or where a low-profile fitting is needed to avoid head clearance issues.

Rated IP44, the Aura Small is protected against water splashes and can be installed in bathroom zones 2 and 3, hallways, porches and covered outdoor areas. The dimmable GX53 lamp format gives flexibility to set ambient light levels in bathrooms, hallways and utility rooms where bright task lighting is not needed. The flush mount fixes directly to a UK ceiling rose or junction box using a standard two-screw fixing concealed behind the canopy.

The white powder-coat finish gives a clean, low-glare surface that sits comfortably in both contemporary white interiors and period schemes where modern fittings are being added without drawing attention. The frosted acrylic diffuser softens the GX53 bulb outline when viewed from below, avoiding the harshness of exposed lamp plates common in cheaper flush fittings. At 120mm diameter the Aura Small is compact enough to be used in pairs or threes along a hallway or over a vanity unit without overwhelming the space.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

Yes. The IP44 rating protects against water splashes and the fitting is suitable for bathroom zones 2 and 3. This means it can be fitted outside the shower enclosure but within 0.6m horizontally of a bath or basin. It is not suitable for zone 0 or 1 (inside or directly above the bath or shower).

What bulb does it take?

The Aura Small takes a single GX53 bulb up to 11W. GX53 bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED GX53 at 2700K-3000K for ambient bathroom or hallway lighting.

Is it dimmable?

The fitting itself supports dimming, but you must use a dimmable GX53 bulb and pair it with a compatible dimmer switch. Not all GX53 LED bulbs are dimmable, so check the bulb specification before purchase.

What ceiling height does it suit?

The 40mm projection from the ceiling makes this suitable for low-ceiling rooms where pendant lights would create head clearance issues. It works in rooms with ceiling heights from 2.2m upwards.
