Description

The Atom is a twin-head recessed downlight with a rectangular black aluminium bezel measuring 175mm × 92mm and a 25mm ceiling recess depth. Each of the two heads houses a GU10 lamp fitting (bulbs sold separately) and tilts independently up to 25° from vertical, allowing light to be directed onto artwork, worktop zones, or architectural features rather than just straight down.

Designed for residential kitchens, home offices, retail display areas and hospitality spaces, the Atom works best where targeted accent lighting is needed alongside or instead of fixed ceiling downlights. The twin configuration covers approximately 1.5-2m of worktop or display run with a single cutout, reducing the number of ceiling penetrations compared to separate single downlights. The tilt mechanism locks into position with friction fit, so each head holds its angle without creeping over time.

The black powder-coated aluminium finish suits contemporary interiors and hides fingerprints or dust better than polished metal. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor areas — this is not suitable for bathrooms, shower rooms or outdoor installation. The rectangular form of the bezel gives a cleaner line when multiple Atom fittings are installed in a run along a kitchen island or gallery wall compared to round downlights.

The Atom takes two GU10 bulbs (sold separately), each up to 50W maximum. Most users pair this with LED GU10 bulbs in the 5-7W range and 3000K-4000K colour temperature for accent or task lighting.

How much does each head tilt?

Each head tilts up to 25° from vertical in any direction. The tilt mechanism uses friction fit to hold the angle once set, so the heads stay in position during normal use.

What ceiling void depth is needed?

The fitting has a 25mm recess depth. A ceiling void of at least 60mm is recommended to allow clearance for the lamp holders, GU10 bulbs and any necessary wiring slack above the fitting.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor areas. For bathroom or wet-room installation, an IP44-rated or higher downlight is required.
