Description

The Atom is a twin recessed downlight with two independently adjustable GU10 lamp holders set into a single white powder-coated aluminium frame. Each lamp head tilts up to 25° from vertical, allowing light to be directed across a worktop, onto a feature wall, or across a dining table rather than straight down. The 175mm × 92mm rectangular frame sits flush with the ceiling once installed, leaving only the two white bezels and lamp apertures visible.

Designed for kitchens, utility rooms, hallways and commercial spaces needing directed task light from a recessed fitting, the Atom pairs two 50W-maximum GU10 lamps (sold separately) in a single cut-out. The adjustable tilt on each head means you can angle one towards a sink and the other towards a worktop, or set both at matching angles to wash light down a corridor. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor locations — the Atom is not suitable for bathrooms, wet rooms or outdoor soffits.

The powder-coated white aluminium frame resists corrosion and blends into white or light-coloured ceilings, making the fitting less visually present than black or metallic recessed downlights. The frame requires a ceiling void depth of at least 80mm for safe installation, and the dual-lamp configuration provides more even coverage across larger rooms than a single-head downlight in the same position. Bulb choice determines colour temperature and beam spread — pair with warm-white LED GU10s for ambient general light, or cool-white for task-focused applications.

No. The Atom takes two GU10 bulbs up to 50W each, sold separately. Most users pair it with LED GU10s between 4-7W, choosing warm white (2700K-3000K) for ambient light or cool white (4000K+) for task lighting.

What ceiling void depth is needed?

A minimum 80mm void depth above the ceiling surface is required for safe installation of the housing and lamp holders. The frame itself projects 25mm below the ceiling line once fitted.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating means the Atom is only suitable for dry indoor locations. For bathrooms, wet rooms or outdoor soffits you need a fitting rated IP44 or higher.
