Description

The Astros is an 82cm circular chandelier carrying 14 smoked glass globes arranged on two concentric matt black metal rings, each globe housing a G9 bulb. The frame uses polished brass accents at the joints and suspension points, contrasting with the matt black finish of the hoops. Each glass sphere varies slightly in size and position along the rings, giving the fitting depth and preventing a flat, uniform appearance when viewed from below.

Designed for dining areas, double-height entrance halls and open-plan living spaces with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above, the Astros works as both ambient and decorative lighting. The smoked glass softens the light output from the 14 G9 bulbs (sold separately), while the radial arrangement spreads illumination across a wide horizontal plane rather than concentrating it in a single downward pool. The adjustable drop of 65-150cm allows the fitting to be positioned 700-900mm above a dining table or raised higher in taller spaces.

The matt black and brass combination gives the Astros a mid-century industrial character that pairs with both warm wood-toned and cool grey contemporary interiors. At 3.6kg the fitting requires secure ceiling fixing to a joist or reinforced mounting point. The smoked glass finish on each globe reduces glare when the chandelier is viewed from the side, making it suitable for installation where sightlines cross the fitting horizontally rather than only from below.

What bulbs does the Astros take?

The fitting takes 14 G9 capsule bulbs, each rated up to 10W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED G9 bulbs at 2700K-3000K for ambient dining or living room lighting.

What ceiling height is needed?

The adjustable drop ranges from 65cm to 150cm, allowing installation in rooms with ceiling heights from 2.4m upwards. For positioning above a dining table, allow 700-900mm clearance from the table surface to the lowest point of the fitting.

Is the Astros dimmable?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the G9 bulbs used. Choose dimmable LED G9 bulbs and pair them with a compatible trailing-edge LED dimmer for smooth dimming performance.

How is the fitting cleaned?

Wipe the smoked glass globes with a soft microfibre cloth. For the matt black metal frame, use a dry or barely-damp cloth to avoid water marks. The brass accents can be polished with a standard brass cleaner if tarnishing occurs over time.
