Description
The Astro is a single-light pendant with a cylindrical black metal shade measuring 120mm diameter by 250mm drop, suspended on a 2000mm fabric-covered cable from a matching black metal ceiling rose. The shade houses a single E27 bulb fitting (sold separately), with light directed downwards through the open base of the cylinder and a small amount of wash light escaping upwards through the narrow gap between the shade and the ceiling rose.
Designed for task and accent lighting over kitchen islands, dining tables, breakfast bars and workspaces, the Astro works as a single fitting or in multiples spaced 400-600mm apart along a linear run. The 2000mm cable allows the pendant to be shortened on installation to suit ceiling heights from 2.4m upwards, typically setting the shade 700-900mm above a worktop or dining surface. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor rooms only.
The black powder-coated metal finish gives a matt surface that absorbs rather than reflects ambient light, making the fitting itself recede visually when unlit while the downlight pool remains crisp and defined. The fabric-covered cable removes the utilitarian look of standard PVC flex and softens the overall presence of the fitting. At 120mm diameter the shade is compact enough not to obstruct sightlines across a kitchen island or dining table when hung at typical working heights.
The Astro accepts any standard E27 LED, halogen or filament bulb up to the maximum wattage stated in the specification table, giving flexibility to choose light temperature and brightness to suit the room. Pairing with a dimmable E27 LED and a compatible dimmer allows output to be adjusted from full task-light brightness down to low ambient.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does the Astro take?
The pendant takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for dining and kitchen task lighting.
Is the Astro dimmable?
Yes, provided you use a dimmable E27 bulb and pair it with a compatible dimmer switch. The fitting itself supports dimming — the bulb and dimmer determine the actual dimming performance.
Can the cable length be adjusted?
The 2000mm cable can be shortened during installation to suit your ceiling height and the desired drop above the work surface or table. Once installed, the cable length is fixed unless the fitting is taken down and re-wired.
Can I use this in a bathroom?
No. The IP20 rating means the Astro is rated for dry indoor rooms only and is not protected against moisture ingress. It should not be used in bathrooms, utility rooms, conservatories or any location where it may be exposed to steam or condensation.
