Description

The Astrid is a 305mm geometric cage pendant built from matte bronze metalwork with a brass gold lampholder at the centre. The cage uses a polyhedron frame structure — triangular facets forming an icosahedral shell — with the single E27 bulb suspended inside on a bottom-wired fitting that appears to float within the open framework. The drop is adjustable between 451mm and 1060mm on installation.

Designed for kitchen islands, dining tables and hallway clusters where the open cage allows light to spread sideways and downwards without blocking sightlines across a room. The 305mm diameter suits island runs of 1.2-1.8m when hung as a pair, or 2.4-3m islands when hung as a trio spaced 800-1000mm apart. The adjustable drop allows the pendant to be set 700-800mm above a worktop or dining surface depending on ceiling height. The cage fits standard UK ceiling roses and the cable is contained within the central stem.

The matte bronze finish on the cage provides a low-sheen charcoal tone that pairs with industrial, mid-century and transitional interiors, while the brass gold lampholder adds warmth where the eye naturally focuses on the light source. The geometric frame casts patterned shadows onto adjacent surfaces when paired with a filament bulb (sold separately), turning the pendant into both functional and decorative lighting. The pendant takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W, sold separately. Yes. The triangular facets of the cage cast patterned shadows onto nearby walls and ceilings when paired with a clear or filament bulb. A frosted or opal bulb softens this effect and provides more diffused light with minimal shadow pattern.
