Description

The Asten is a slim rectangular LED bulkhead measuring 900 x 100 x 42 mm, running 15W direct from a 220-240V AC supply to deliver 1230 lumens of 4000K cool white light. Its integrated LEDs are fixed inside the housing, so there is no bulb to replace over the rated 25,000 hour life. The wide asymmetric spread of 120 degrees by 105 degrees pushes light out along the surface it sits on, which is why this style is often called an outdoor wall sconce or wall pack in the US. At nearly a metre long it reads as a linear bar of light rather than the round bulkhead disc many people picture.

Mounted horizontally or vertically on a wall, the Asten works well in entrance lobbies, stairwells, corridors and communal hallways where a long even wash is more useful than a single bright spot. The elongated form throws light sideways across walls and along walkways, so it suits grazing a passage or marking a route rather than lighting a whole room from the centre. With an IP44 rating it is splash-resistant and happy in bathroom zones away from direct spray, and under covered outdoor spots such as a porch or carport. Keep it clear of fully exposed positions, direct water jets and anywhere it could be submerged.

Built from aluminium alloy in a black finish, the body resists corrosion and helps draw heat away from the LEDs across long hours of use. The IP44 seal keeps splashes and dust out in sheltered locations, and the fitting is wall mounted via the rear fixing points. This is a non-dimmable luminaire running on a fixed output, with a colour rendering of Ra 80 for natural-looking 4000K light. The Asten range carries other sizes and wattages if you need to match fittings across a building.
