Description

The Aspen is a 100cm-wide two-door cabinet with a white bone inlay geometric pattern covering the entire curved exterior, set on an antique brass plinth base. Each door front is hand-inlaid with small diamond-shaped pieces of natural bone arranged in an asymmetrical lattice pattern against a white resin ground, creating a textured surface that catches light differently depending on viewing angle.

Designed as a bar cabinet, sideboard or media console for living rooms, dining rooms and hallways with width constraints under 120cm, the Aspen provides enclosed storage behind two doors that open to reveal internal shelving. The curved front and side profile softens the rectangular footprint, making the piece read as furniture rather than built-in joinery. The 45cm depth accommodates standard dinnerware, glassware, bottles or media equipment without projecting too far from the wall.

The bone inlay construction layers small pieces of natural bone onto a solid wood frame, then infills the gaps between bone fragments with white resin before the entire surface is sealed and polished. This traditional technique originates in Indian furniture craft and means no two cabinets show identical bone placement. The antique brass plinth runs the full perimeter of the base, lifting the cabinet 5-6cm off the floor and providing visual separation between the inlaid body and the floor surface. The 35.5kg weight reflects the solid wood frame and bone overlay.

Frequently Asked

Is the bone inlay pattern identical on every cabinet?

No. Each Aspen cabinet is hand-inlaid, so the placement and arrangement of individual bone pieces varies between units. The overall asymmetrical diamond pattern remains consistent, but fine details differ.

What's inside the cabinet?

Two doors open to reveal internal shelving suitable for glassware, bottles, dinnerware or media equipment. The interior is not bone-inlaid and uses a standard wood finish.

How is bone inlay furniture cleaned?

Wipe gently with a dry or barely-damp soft cloth. Avoid soaking the surface, and do not use chemical cleaners, polishes or abrasive materials. The resin infill is sealed but porous materials like bone can absorb moisture if over-wetted.

Does the cabinet need assembly?

The Aspen arrives fully assembled. The antique brass plinth is pre-fitted to the base. At 35.5kg, two people are recommended for safe positioning and moving.
