Description

The Ashland Bay is a 471mm outdoor pedestal lantern built around a cylindrical cage of clear seeded glass, framed in a weathered zinc finish that mimics aged metalwork. A single E27 bulb fitting sits inside the glass cylinder, which is held between a domed top cap and a stepped base plinth. The top handle and riveted bands reference colonial lantern design without literal reproduction.

Designed for mounting on gate pillars, garden wall caps and pathway bollards with a flat top surface at least 193mm square, the lantern provides downlight and radial diffusion through the seeded glass. The IP44 rating protects against rain splash and airborne moisture, making it suitable for exposed positions where a pedestal or column provides the mounting surface. The E27 socket accepts LED, filament or halogen bulbs up to 60W.

The weathered zinc finish is a textured grey-brown powder coat that shows tonal variation across the metalwork, suggesting oxidised zinc without the maintenance requirements of real zinc. The seeded glass carries deliberate bubbles and ripples in the moulding, which break up the bulb filament into scattered points of light rather than a single glare source.
