Description
The Asheville is a 635mm-tall Tiffany table lamp with a handcrafted art glass shade set on a valiant bronze metal base. The shade is assembled from individual pieces of amber, red and cream art glass using the traditional copper foil method, where each piece is wrapped in copper foil, soldered at the seams, and arranged to form geometric panels radiating from the apex. Two E27 bulbs inside the shade cast warm light through the coloured glass, creating a layered glow of amber and red tones across the room.
Designed for bedside tables, side tables next to armchairs, console tables in hallways and traditional home offices, the Asheville provides ambient task light suitable for reading or evening use. The 406mm-square shade projection means the lamp needs approximately 500-600mm of table surface to sit comfortably without overhanging edges. The valiant bronze finish on the base is a darkened, oil-rubbed bronze with subtle highlights where the metal is raised, giving texture without high shine. Two pull-chain switches hang from the shade, allowing each bulb to be controlled independently for low or high light output.
The metal base uses four vertical struts that curve upward and join at the centre, forming a cage-like structure beneath the shade. This open framework keeps the visual weight lighter than a solid resin base while providing structural support for the 406mm-wide glass shade above. The glass panels show minor colour variation between individual pieces due to the handcrafted nature of art glass production, so no two Asheville lamps will be identical in their exact tonal distribution when lit.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does the Asheville take?
The lamp has two E27 sockets, each rated for a maximum 60W bulb. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair Tiffany lamps with warm-white LED filament bulbs between 4-6W and 2200K-2700K to complement the amber and red glass tones.
How are the two bulbs controlled?
Two pull-chain switches hang from the underside of the shade. Each chain controls one bulb independently, allowing the lamp to be used on low light (one bulb), high light (both bulbs), or switched off entirely.
Is the shade handmade?
Yes. Each shade is assembled by hand using the copper foil method, where individual art glass pieces are wrapped in copper foil and soldered together. This means colour placement and tonal variation differ slightly between individual lamps.
What table size does the lamp need?
The 406mm-square shade projection requires approximately 500-600mm of clear table surface to sit without overhanging the edge. The lamp stands 635mm tall, so it suits bedside tables, side tables and console tables rather than low coffee tables.
