Description

A single adjustable head for track, this one pairs a compact shade of 95mm across with a stem that swivels, so the light can be aimed along a wall or down onto a worktop. The socket is E27, which is generous for a spot of this size and means ordinary GLS A60 lamps will do the job rather than a narrow reflector type. With a ceiling of 40W, it gives a soft, broad wash rather than a hard pool, and it will dim if a dimmable lamp is teamed with a compatible dimmer.

We would use it where a length of track has to cover the general lighting and the accents at once: a kitchen ceiling, a long landing, a home office where the desk moves about, or a wall of shelving that wants light angled across it. Several heads on the same track let you set some straight down and turn others towards artwork or a chimney breast, then change your mind later without any rewiring. It suits anyone who has inherited a track and wants heads that look considered rather than technical, and the black keeps it quiet against a dark ceiling line.

The black finish runs across the shade, the joint and the track adaptor, so nothing bright interrupts the shape when the head is tilted. Keep it looking right by dusting the shade now and then with a dry brush or a lint-free cloth, and let the lamp go cold before you touch it. It carries a one year warranty. Within the Aruba range there is the same track head in white, plus small and large round pendants and flush fittings in matt white and silver if you want the ceiling points elsewhere in the room to match. Lamps are supplied separately, and we would fit a warm white LED here.
