Description

The Artisan is a 54mm diameter surface mounted downlight with a cylindrical white aluminium body carrying a precision diamond-cut texture across the outer surface. The interior houses a matt black reflector ring and a fixed GU10 bulb fitting rated for up to 10W. The downlight projects 108mm from the ceiling when installed, directing light downwards in a fixed beam.

Designed for spaces where recessed ceiling downlights are impractical due to shallow ceiling voids or concrete slab construction, the Artisan mounts directly onto a ceiling surface via a rear base plate. The white finish and textured surface work across both residential and commercial interiors, including hallways, kitchens, bathrooms (dry zones only — IP20 rated), stairwells and retail display areas where surface mounting is the only viable installation method.

The diamond-cut pattern machined into the aluminium creates a geometric surface detail that catches light at different angles during the day and reduces the plain-cylinder appearance common to basic surface downlights. The black reflector interior improves beam control and hides the back of the GU10 bulb from side angles. The downlight runs on standard 220-240V AC mains and accepts any GU10 LED, halogen or low-energy bulb up to 10W, sold separately.

What bulb does it take?

The Artisan takes a standard GU10 bulb up to 10W, sold separately. Most users pair this with a 5-7W warm-white LED GU10 at 2700K-3000K for general ambient downlighting.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

The IP20 rating means the downlight is suitable for dry zones only. It cannot be installed within Zone 1 or Zone 2 of a bathroom (areas directly above a bath or shower). It can be used in bathrooms outside these zones where no direct water contact occurs.

Is the beam direction adjustable?

No. The GU10 fitting is fixed in a downward-facing position. The beam direction cannot be tilted or rotated after installation.

How is it installed?

The downlight mounts directly onto a ceiling surface via a rear base plate, with the mains cable entering through a central aperture in the base. It does not require a recessed ceiling void and can be fitted to solid concrete ceilings where cutting a recess is impractical.
