Artisan Single Fixed Round Surface Mounted Downlight - Black

The Artisan is a 108mm cylindrical surface-mounted downlight in matt black aluminium, designed to fit directly onto a ceiling without recessing. A single GU10 bulb fitting sits inside the 54mm-diameter tube, casting a fixed downward beam through a recessed internal ring that conceals the lamp from view at normal angles. The black powder-coated finish absorbs ambient light and gives the fitting a low-profile presence against dark or contrasting ceiling surfaces.

Designed for accent lighting in kitchens, hallways, retail displays and gallery walls, the Artisan mounts directly to a ceiling surface using a rear fixing plate, making it suitable for installations where ceiling void depth is insufficient for recessed fittings or where existing concrete, steel or timber ceilings cannot be cut. The fixed beam angle focuses light onto worktops, artwork or merchandise below without spill onto adjacent walls. The IP20 rating limits use to dry interior spaces only.

The aluminium construction keeps the fitting lightweight at under 200g while providing durability and heat dissipation for continuous use. The 10W maximum load suits modern GU10 LED bulbs between 4-7W, which typically deliver 300-600 lumens depending on the chosen colour temperature. The matt black finish pairs with industrial, minimalist and contemporary interiors, and the compact 54mm diameter allows multiple fittings to be grouped in a run without visual crowding on ceilings with limited width.

Product Manual

Does it come with a bulb?

No. The fitting takes a standard GU10 bulb up to 10W, sold separately. Most users pair this with a 5-7W GU10 LED in 2700K-3000K for warm accent lighting or 4000K for task lighting in kitchens.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry interior locations only. For bathroom zones requiring IP44 or IP65 protection, see our dedicated bathroom downlight range.

Is the beam angle adjustable?

No. The Artisan is a fixed-beam downlight casting light directly downward. The beam angle depends on the GU10 bulb chosen—narrow-beam (25-38°) for accent lighting, wide-beam (60-120°) for broader coverage.

What ceiling depth is needed for installation?

The Artisan surface-mounts directly onto the ceiling, requiring no void depth. The rear fixing plate sits flat against the ceiling surface with wiring fed through a small knockout aperture, making it suitable for solid concrete or timber ceilings where recessing is not possible.
