Description
The Hinkley Arti is an adjustable wall light with a clear conical glass shade suspended from a heritage brass articulated arm mounted on a 191mm circular backplate. The arm extends 386-482mm from the wall and swivels at two brass joints, allowing the shade to be angled towards a reading position, a mirror, or down a hallway. The fitting takes a single E27 bulb up to 60W (sold separately).
Designed for bedside reading, bathroom mirror illumination and hallway accent lighting, the Arti pairs task and decorative function through its exposed-filament aesthetic. The clear glass shade shows the full bulb — pairing with an antique-filament LED or traditional Edison-style bulb turns the lamp itself into a feature. The 242mm fitting height and adjustable arm give flexibility to direct light where it's needed without repositioning the backplate.
The heritage brass finish carries a soft, warm patina that sits between polished brass and antique brass, pairing with traditional, transitional and warm-toned contemporary interiors. The two-joint articulated arm allows the shade to be set at various angles and locked in position by tightening the brass collars at each joint. The open conical shade directs light downwards while allowing ambient light to spill upwards and sideways, preventing the fitting from creating harsh pools of glare in compact spaces.
The Arti works as a solo fitting beside a vanity mirror or bedside, or in symmetrical pairs framing a headboard, bathroom mirror or hallway entrance. The clear shade retains visual lightness in smaller rooms where opaque shades would feel heavy, and the exposed bulb aesthetic allows the fitting to be styled to different interiors by changing bulb type without changing the fitting itself.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does it take?
The Arti takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with an antique-filament LED bulb between 4-8W and 2200K-2700K to suit the heritage brass finish and exposed-bulb aesthetic.
Can the arm be adjusted and locked in position?
Yes. The arm swivels at two brass joints and can be angled to direct light towards a reading position, a mirror, or down a hallway. The joints can be tightened using the brass collars to lock the shade at the desired angle.
What's the difference between heritage brass and antique brass?
Heritage brass sits between polished brass and antique brass in tone. It carries a soft, warm patina without the heavily aged appearance of antique brass, and without the high shine of polished brass. The finish develops a richer patina over time.
Is it suitable for bathroom use?
The Arti has no stated IP rating and is designed for dry interior locations. For bathroom mirror use, it should be installed outside zones 1 and 2 (at least 600mm from the edge of a bath or shower enclosure). Consult a qualified electrician for bathroom installation.
