Description

The Kichler Argyle is a single-light outdoor wall lantern with seeded glass panels held within a weathered zinc metal frame featuring diagonal crossbar bracing. The lantern measures 322mm high by 204mm wide with a 234mm projection from the wall, and takes one E27 bulb up to 60W (sold separately). The IP44 rating provides protection against dust and rain, making it suitable for exposed UK exterior walls.

Designed for mounting beside front doors, porch entries, garage doorways and garden walls, the Argyle provides accent lighting and wayfinding for paths and steps after dark. The seeded glass diffuses the light from the bulb inside, creating a textured glow that softens hard shadows while maintaining enough clarity to illuminate immediate surroundings. The crossbar frame gives the lantern structural reinforcement and adds a decorative element that references traditional carriage lamp designs.

The weathered zinc finish is a mid-grey tone with a slightly mottled surface texture that mimics naturally aged galvanised metal. This finish sits comfortably alongside painted masonry, brick, render and timber cladding in both traditional and modern builds. The metal frame is powder-coated steel, giving corrosion resistance beyond the aesthetic weathering effect. The top cap and base plate seal the lantern against rain entering the lamp holder chamber.

The wall plate fixes to a standard UK single-gang 25mm back box or directly to brick/masonry using the supplied fixings. The lantern accepts E27 LED, halogen or filament bulbs, giving flexibility to choose colour temperature and brightness to suit the setting. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED filament bulb between 4-8W and 2200K-2700K to match the vintage-inspired aesthetic of the seeded glass.
