Description

The Arena is a 600mm round LED bathroom ceiling light with an opal acrylic diffuser moulded into flowing wave contours, mounted on a matt white metal base. The integrated 45W LED delivers 4050 lumens at 3000K warm white colour temperature, diffused evenly through the textured acrylic. The IP44 rating allows installation in bathroom zones 2 and 3, protecting the fitting from water splashes.

Designed for ceiling mounting in bathrooms, en-suites and shower rooms with standard 2.4m ceiling heights, the Arena provides ambient light coverage for spaces up to 12-15 square metres. The 85mm projection from the ceiling keeps the fitting compact enough for rooms with limited headroom while the 600mm diameter gives sufficient spread to light a medium bathroom from a single central position. The fitting can also be wall-mounted where a ceiling installation is not practical, though this is less common.

The wave-contoured diffuser creates a sculptural profile that softens the flatness typical of flush ceiling lights. Each contour catches and refracts light differently, adding visual depth to what would otherwise be a plain disc. The matt white finish on the metal base reduces glare from bathroom mirrors and blends neutrally with white ceilings and tiles. At 3.7kg, the fitting requires secure fixing to a ceiling joist or a reinforced ceiling rose rated for the weight.

The Arena is non-dimmable and operates on 100-240V mains, suitable for both UK and international electrical systems. The integrated LED is not user-replaceable, but the 3-year warranty covers LED failure within that period. Mantra rates the LED lifespan at approximately 25,000 hours under normal domestic use, equivalent to around 8-10 years at 3 hours per day.

Which bathroom zones does the IP44 rating cover?

IP44-rated fittings are suitable for bathroom zones 2 and 3. Zone 2 covers areas within 60cm of a bath or shower tray and up to 2.25m above floor level. Zone 3 is anywhere outside zones 0, 1 and 2 up to 2.25m from the floor. The Arena cannot be installed in zones 0 or 1, which require higher IP ratings.

What size bathroom does the 4050lm output suit?

The 4050-lumen output provides ambient light for bathrooms up to approximately 12-15 square metres when ceiling-mounted centrally. Larger bathrooms or rooms with darker finishes may benefit from additional task lighting around mirrors or vanity areas.

Can the LED be replaced if it fails?

No. The LED is integrated into the fitting and not user-replaceable. LED failures within the 3-year warranty period are covered by Mantra. Beyond warranty, the entire fitting would need replacement.

Is the fitting suitable for low ceilings?

Yes. At 85mm projection from the ceiling, the Arena works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.1m or above without creating headroom issues. The flush-mount design is one of the more compact options for moisture-rated bathroom lighting.
